I met Ugo and Alessandra for the first time less than 24 hours before their wedding. Both are natives of Italy and had just moved here one month before the wedding day. After arriving in Boise, Ugo decided it was time to ask Alessandra to be his wife. The couple got married right away with just a few of their new friends in attendance. A traditional church wedding will follow next year in Italy with all of their family and friends attending.
Although this couple was not married in Italy you would never have known it just by listening to the various conversations throughout the day. Almost everyone in attendance was Italian or spoke the language.
I’ve been to many weddings over the years and teared up a bit but I know this is the only wedding I’ve photographed and shed tears over. Although I don’t speak a word of Italian, their devotion for each other is obvious. It is weddings like that remind me, why I love being a wedding photographer.
Congratulations Ugo and Alessandra! I wish you many years of happiness to come.
There will be no shortage of photos for the family and friends back in Italy!
Ugo and Alessandra were using Skype to talk to family back home and show everyone their wedding day attire.
