This past summer I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Alexy and Shannon. This couple chose the historic Boise Train Depot as their wedding venue.
The Wedding Venue
If you’ve never been to “The Depot” you should plan an afternoon or evening trip to stop in and walk around the grounds. Not only is this one of Boise’s historic landmarks… it also offers up some of the best views of the downtown Boise skyline. Stopping in to watch a sunset and take a stroll through Platt Gardens is especially breathtaking during the summer months!
The Couple
This couple originally met on a night out in downtown Boise. Each was downtown with friends enjoying a night of dancing. Alexy and Shannon hit it off on the dance floor and had a great conversation on their initial encounter… but each got busy with life and didn’t keep in contact. Then one fine day, while traveling through Europe…. they ran into each other. What are the odds of two people from Boise, traveling to Europe at the same time… unbeknownst to the other… of running into each other. It must be fate! Right? This is when the romance really bloomed and you could say the rest is history.
Their Wedding
Alexy and Shannon exchanged their wedding vows outside, on the east side of the Boise Train Depot. The celebration then moved inside. As you’ll notice from some of the interior photos which are highlighted here later in this post…. this venue is not lacking in architectural details. The building is large enough to have ample seating for guests as well as a large dance floor. Plus on a hot summer day, it offers an escape into an air conditioned room for relief from the summer heat.
Congratulations Shannon and Alexy! I wish you many years of wedded bliss!
