Boise Studio Senior Portraits | Timeless Senior Photos with Multiple Looks

While outdoor senior portraits are popular in Boise, I encourage seniors to also consider having their photos taken in the studio. Studio portraits offer a timeless style that never goes out of fashion. Photographing in my downtown studio gives me complete control over lighting and backgrounds. Combined with a variety of poses and wardrobe changes, I’m able to create a wide range of looks and moods without worrying about weather, wind, or changing outdoor conditions.

The Photo Session

This senior session features three different seamless backgrounds that complement her clothing and help create distinctly different looks. I paired the bright white backdrop with her white dress and added high-key lighting, producing clean, modern portraits with a fresh, polished feel. The gray seamless paper helped create a more classic portrait style with greater depth and dimension in the lighting. To keep these images a bit more casual, I prompted Baily into more relaxed poses. I also LOVE color, so I decided to incorporate a deep pink/rose seamless paper to give her another option with a bold pop of color and personality.

Wardrobe changes added another layer of personality to the session. Baily selected two fitted dresses featuring spaghetti straps and feather detailing, creating a bold, fashion-forward look that photographed beautifully in the studio environment. To round out her session and capture images that reflected this important milestone, she also brought her black cap and gown. By combining multiple outfits with different backgrounds and lighting styles, the final gallery included everything from formal portraits to more casual, modern images, along with full-length, three-quarter, headshot, and close-up portraits.

Why Choose A Studio Session?

One of the biggest advantages of booking a studio senior session is the ability to customize every detail of the experience. Lighting can be adjusted to flatter each subject, and backgrounds can be changed in just a few minutes. We can easily transition from a bright, modern look to something more classic or dramatic—all without worrying about wind, rain, extreme heat or chilly weather.

If you’re a high school senior looking for a polished, timeless style, a studio session is definitely something to consider. Studio portraits can stand beautifully on their own, or they can complement an outdoor senior session. One of the added benefits of my downtown Boise studio is its convenient location near several of Boise’s most popular portrait locations. Freak Alley, the Basque Block, Kathryn Albertson Park, and the Boise Train Depot are all within about a mile of the studio, making it easy to combine both studio and outdoor portraits into one senior session.
