On August 15th I attended the Caldwell Night Rodeo and took part in the Power of Pink night. This event was created to help raise funds to increase awareness about receiving mammograms. The program also provides FREE screening mammograms at both the West Valley Medical Center and the St. Alphonsus Health Systems for women who are uninsured, under insured or under served. Attendees of the Power of Pink Night are encouraged to wear pink. to find out more, visit www.caldwellnightrodeo.com for more information.
“Crush Wine Bar in Eagle hosted a fundraiser for Let’s Erase The Stigma in August. LETS is a nonprofit organization aiming to erase the stigma attached to mental illnesses, specifically those experienced by today’s youth. Their goal is to provide a safe place for youth to go in school if they are dealing with any type of mental illness. Each group is student-led and provides its members with the opportunity to share their experiences and seek advice, gaining comfort from knowing that they are not alone in their struggle. Nicole Washington was the September “cover girl” for HERLIFE Magazine here in the Boise area. This amazing lady and I spent a few hours out at Gowen Field taking photos of her with her helicopter. I have to admit….this was my first time ever being in a helicopter and although we never left the ground, it’s an experience I’ll never forget.
Thanks Nicole for agreeing to be the September “Cover Girl”. It was a pleasure.
