It’s been months since I’ve photographed an event with over 50 people in attendance. The Greater Idaho Alzheimer’s Association was fortunate enough to be able to hold their first in-person walk since 2019. They kicked off 3 weekends of fundraising efforts this past weekend in Idaho Falls.
Walkers gathered at Snake River Landing with a common goal in mind. A future without Alzheimer’s and dementia. So many of the teams in attendance are families. They gather together in support of a loved one who has been diagnosed with the disease and hopes that their children and grandchildren will know a world free of the disease.
The Alzheimer’s Association
Walk to End Alzheimer’s is put together by the Alzheimer’s Association and proceeds from this annual fundraiser help support Alzheimer’s research and care. The event is held in numerous cities nationwide. Idaho’s next event will be held in Twin Falls on September 25th, 2021. If you’d like to get involved, I urge you to contact your local Alzheimer’s Association offices.
