Those in attendance came-together to help raise funds for the soon to be built museum.  The museum&#8217;s  mission is to &#8220;Influence Positive Community Transformation&#8221; by educating the public about various refugee cultures.  Especially those found in Idaho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Museum<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The Idaho Museum of International Diaspora (IMID) was founded in 2018 by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hJTtQu-mVwU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dr. Palina Louangketh<\/a> [loo-on-gate], a former refugee from Laos&#8221;.  She has been calling Boise home since 1981.  &#8220;As a Lao-American, finding a special way to give back to the community that welcomed, and embraced her family, has been a childhood dream&#8221;. It will be a reality very soon.  Architects <a href=\"https:\/\/cushingterrell.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cushing Terrell<\/a> along with Idaho State University architecture students have been working on plans for the museum.  The design will feature components important to the founder.  It will be a space that welcomes diversity, and is safe for all.
