{"id":195,"date":"2012-02-20T20:41:00","date_gmt":"2012-02-20T20:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/leapphotography.com\/blog\/baker-city-oregon-overnight-get-away-baker-city-photographer\/"},"modified":"2014-08-23T01:08:21","modified_gmt":"2014-08-23T01:08:21","slug":"baker-city-oregon-overnight-get-away-baker-city-photographer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/leapphotography.com\/blog\/2012\/02\/baker-city-oregon-overnight-get-away-baker-city-photographer\/","title":{"rendered":"Baker City, Oregon:  Overnight get away \/ {Baker City Photographer}"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: center;\">In late January my husband and I found some time to get out of Boise and enjoy a little down time.&nbsp; We wanted to go somewhere within a few hours of Boise, stay in a nice hotel for the evening and just relax.&nbsp; We decided on Baker City, Oregon.&nbsp; We&#8217;d heard great things about the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geisergrand.com\/aboutus.html\" style=\"color: #274e13;\">Geiser Grand Hotel<\/a><span style=\"color: #274e13;\"> <\/span>so we made a call and booked the room.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;d driven through Baker City many times on our way to and from Portland but we never really stopped and looked around.&nbsp; I fell in love right away.&nbsp; I love old architecture and this town really has a rich history that is visible at every turn.<\/p>\n<p>Baker City has roughly 100 building on the historical registry.&nbsp; This is no small feat considering the amount of time, energy, and money it takes to renovate a building while keeping the original character. The dedication of this town&#8217;s citizens is absolutely amazing. <\/p>\n<p>Our room was stunning; and the restaurant at the hotel was first rate.
