The Townsends / Boise Portrait Photographer

Sunday, I had the pleasure of photographing this young family of three. We decided to take a leisurely stroll through Kathryn Albertson Park and take a few pictures along the way. I’ve been in this park many times, but this was the first time I’ve seen a deer grazing on grass in the middle of the day; it certainly was a rare sight.

Although the heat was in the 90’s, Little Miss K. was full of curiosity and smiles. Her smiles are contagious and it’s hard not to smile when you see a cute baby with bright blue eyes. Thanks for making my job so easy.

I’m a lucky girl. I was fortunate enough to spend another day with a fun couple and their friends & family.Belinda and her girls started out the morning with an enthusiastic attitude, champagne and a few mixed drinks. Some might think they were crazy to celebrate so early in the day, but you only get married once. I say celebrate!!Once again the weather was on our side. All day long we watched the clouds come together and turn a deep blue. Weather forecasts predicted a downpour and there were concerns we would all experience a “wet” wedding. The forecast were not completely incorrect. Boise, Meridian, and Eagle did receive a substantial amount of rain but the thunderous clouds moved around Wood River Cellars and only dropped a few good luck raindrops on all of us.

Congratulation Chris & Bel!

Belinda’s Dad was even a little nervous about the walk down the aisle. I heard he even had to practice a little the night before in the hotel. He wanted to make sure his timing was just right.

This is one of my favorite shots from the day. Belinda’s father did a great job of holding back the tears during the father daughter dance.

It’s quite difficult not to have a beautiful ceremony at St. John’s Catholic Church and this wedding was no exception. The architectural detail inside this church is just amazing. The stained glass and intricate painting on the ceiling dome are a feast for the eyes.

Thank you Haley & Wade for having me be a part of your special day.

Cupcakes were the desert of choice for this couple.
Yummy!

This is by far the most interesting cake table decoration I have every seen!

The “photobooth” was a great conversation piece. Guests had a great time hamming it up behind the curtains.

The Allsop’s / Boise family photographer

Let me just start by saying this family is truly “awesome”. It is not often that you find a person, let alone an entire family who is so optimistic even when they have been dealt a bad deck of cards.

This family is in the progress of dealing with all of the headaches of building a new house after a fire. They have a great attitude about their situation. A lot of people, myself included, would be put out by the fact they were dealing with rentals, insurance companies, and builders. This family is inspiring because they truly feel fortunate. Their situation could be so much worse. These are hard economic times and they feel that rebuilding a home is just a minor obstacle along the way.

So this family, basset hounds included, was obviously in need of a new family portrait to hang on their wall. This is a year of new beginnings. There is a new house on the way and Sam, just graduated from high school. I guess there is no better time than the present to gather the troops and smile for the camera.

Thanks guys for choosing Leap Photography once again.

A&W, forever a classic / Boise Wedding Photographer

Ahh, a Sunday afternoon at the winery. Fresh air, the sun on your face, good food, and a little wine all compliment each other in a way that make any afternoon special; now throw a gorgeous wedding into the mix and you have memories to last a lifetime.

Alana & Walt chose to start their memories as a married couple at Wood River Cellars. Although this wedding was small in numbers, it was a wedding that had a tremendous outpouring of family love and support. Family & friends came in from all over the country to see these two tie the knot & help them celebrate in casual style. I think I speak for everyone when I say, Congratulations, I know the coming years bring you enormous joy and happiness.

Walt wrote a song just for Alana.
He and a few of his groomsmen debuted the song during the reception.

Erica & Joe / Boise Wedding Photographer

Saturday May 23rd was the much awaited wedding date for Erica & Joe. After months of preparations the day finally arrived and we were all blessed with warm weather and storm free, slightly overcast skies. I can’t be much happier than when mother nature provides me with a wonderful soft light. For those of you who follow my blog you may have noticed I obsess just a tad about weather. Part of the obsession comes from the fact I grew up on a dry land farm in Montana and the weather affected my families livelihood. I’ve in a way been trained since birth to be constantly searching the skies & pondering what is coming my way in the upcoming day. Now that I’m a photographer I find myself monitoring the weather because I’m concerned about the quality of light it produces.

You might remember Erica & Joe from an engagement session I photographed earlier this year. Unlike our first outing together, their wedding day went smoothly. No one was in need of a band and mother nature cooperated with us.

Thank-you Erica & Joe for inviting me to be part of your special day.

Erica’s day began in Meridian at Avante Salon. Her stylist Carrie Miller did an excellent job with Erica’s long locks.

After a relaxing morning in the salon we were off to Spurwing Country Club to complete the process of getting ready for the wedding.

Joe was worried about the first dance, but as you can see he did great.

This is one of my favorite shots of Erica dancing with her father.
Brad Rowen of DJ One One always does a great job. This crowd had a great time.

Sadly all great parties must come to an end. Luckily for this couple the fun was just beginning.

Sunny beaches and tropical drinks are in their future.

Jamaica here we come!!
